MISES, Ludwig von (1881-1973). Free-market economist. Von Misies was
professor, at Vienna (1913-38). He moved to the U.S. in 1940 where he was a professor at
N.Y.U. (1945-69). He was the author of Theorie des Geldes und der Umlaufsmittel
(1912), Liberalismus (1927), Grundprobleme der Nationalökonomie (1933), Bureaucracy
(1944), Planned Chaos (1947), Human Action (1949) and The
Anti-Capitalistic Mentality (1956).
